RAE TOOTH
FOUNDER
I founded Inclusion Revolution because I know that everyone benefits from a society where everyone can thrive. My career has been entirely focused on achieving social inclusion whether through my work in Government, the third sector or campaigning organisations. My breadth and depth of experience has taught me about the personal and organisational challenges to achieving real impact, and how to address them.
I bring my experience in higher education policy around improving access, progression, and success for socially disadvantaged and underrepresented groups. I am an expert in effective evaluation of practice and outcomes, and in bringing together practice, policy, and academic discourse in relation to social justice.
As Chief Executive of a social justice charity I led a transformative programme of change, embedding an evidence-led approach to its programmes, built a values-led organisational culture, and established a structure focused on delivering results. Over the course of four years I established us as a leading organisation in widening participation to higher education.
My previous career spans two decades in the Civil Service, leading to work on higher education and equality. As Head of Strategy and Change at the Office for Fair Access I advised successive Cabinet Ministers on developing evidence-led policy aimed at improving outcomes for disadvantaged and underrepresented students.
I am currently a Board Member of the University of Winchester, a Trustee of Bristol Student’s Union and Co-Chair of the Fair Access Coalition.
Alongside my professional understanding of disadvantage and exclusion, I have lived experience of being disadvantaged. Alongside my privilege of being a white, cis woman, I have multiple disabilities, grew up in a complex, low income home, and am a lone parent to two children.

Love
Love is not a word we often use in organisational settings, or about our relationships with those we work with or for. I choose to approach everyone from a place of love, as an act of inclusion. We may not agree with, understand or like everyone, but we will continue relate to them and every human being is worthy of love.
COURAGE
We will not achieve social inclusion without change, both within ourselves, and the organisations and systems that we work in. Such change takes courage, because we are questioning our very foundations. We know that sometimes we will make mistakes as we strive for inclusivity, but we choose to try and fail and learn rather than continue to do what we have always done.
Curious
Curiosity has the power to make space for different. By holding curious, open and judgement-free spaces I can work with you to explore where you are now, where it is you really want to be and how that could be even better.
Creative
Chances are you have already tried lots of things to create the change you want to see. I am skilled at bringing creativity, playfulness and new perspectives to seemingly intractable challenges so you can unlock new solutions that actually make a difference.
Tennacious
Social exclusion has been built and reinforced over centuries. Diminishing and eradicating it means continuous vigilance and action. I will work with you to build organisational and personal resilience and resource so you can continue to achieve your aims.
